Sherry D. Ficklin is a full time writer from Colorado where she lives with her husband, four kids, two dogs, and a fluctuating number of chickens and house guests. A former military brat, she loves to travel and meet new people. Tamara Grantham, Author of DREAMTHIEF: I read about 40 books this year, which was actually a good number for me. In 2015, with a newborn in tow, the number was about five. What reading means to me... I'll give my answer in story format, because, you know, I like to tell stories. I was ten when my mom started reading THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE to my siblings and me. At first, I resisted the idea of an imaginary world, somehow thinking it wasn't cool. But then I started getting into the book, and then I couldn't stop thinking about it. I had to know more. After she finished, I read the rest of the series on my own. Since then, I've treasured books, especially those that transport me to another world. There is no other form of storytelling that has the ability to utilize your imagination the way reading does. Movies are visual and auditory, but they lack the ability to get inside a character's mind and show you how they feel, which is why books will always have the advantage.
